Alloy Wheels

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but i tried a search and nothing came up so I am looking to put 18`s on my car will these need to be a different offset to 16`s or 17`s? what specs do i need to look for to make sure the wheels will fit without any problems? Will 19`s go on without major mods? Thanks for any help its just i keep looking at different styles which claim the same specs but but then some say they will fit my car ok others say only a 17 will fit? confused totally!!!! HELP

18s will fit and the offset is +35.

Sizes should be 8.5J for front and 9.5J for rear.

Tyres sizes which are as near as to the originals for rolling radius and in the following combinations:-

FR 225/40/18 RR 295/30/18

FR 225/40/18 RR 255/35/18

FR 245/35/18 RR 285/30/18

My personal choice for money and to keep steering keen and not following cambers would be the second setup. If money isnt an issue then obviously the first setup. The third setup the car will be more prone to following cambers due to the larger size, and the steering response wont be as good.

Wot is the first no. on the tyre? I thi=ought it was the width but not too sure.

Got a price for some 18 inch wheels yesterday but they only come in 7.5 which seems a bit skinny to me. But the tyres were 245/35 on front and 265/35 on back. Does this seem right?

Got 235 40 X 18 front and 265 35 X 18 rear on 8.5 front and 10 rear.

Seems a good compromise. Plenty others have the same.

Once again Willie is correct biggrin.gif For pure price reasons on the rear go for the 265/35 ZR18s - these seem to be the most common and therefore the cheapest.

In respect to the 7.5J, too narrow unforts - you'll need at least 8J on the fronts and at least 9J for the rears....

Yes, maybe but you work out the rolling radius and the 235, and 265 are along way off the standard setup.
