Right Ive been looking at the best area for pubs which seems to be centrally located so know one is travelling too far and it does seem to be Aylesbury and surrounding villages.

Does anyone have a problem with this location before I start contacting pubs in the area, seeing as so far no one has put any suggestions down??

Craig

Do it mate - we can look to do them at different locations every month or so, but I would suggest that you start the ball rolling round your neck of the woods.

Crooked Billet between Ayles and Bicester would be showy with carpark open to passing A-41 and an obv find to those not to local.

plus he is open to events.. heard he's holding almost a rave for New years eve.

Hello guys.... this lost a bit of momentum, but since the weather has been so fine and it's payday at the end of the week, perhaps we should look to meet up on the weekend? I am around on the Sunday, I might even be able to persuade the other half to come out for a drink or two.

Following Shergarrs suggestion, there is a Crooked Billet in Stoke Row near Henley which has a great reputation,

as when you look at the reviews for the one on the a41 they are not too complimentry.

But i don't really care which pub or where to be honest, i would just like a little drive and the only way i can drag her out to join me will be if we are going somewhere as opposed to just ragging it round country lanes.

Your thoughts and suggestions please gentlemen.

Sadly not sure this would be practical. Tiny country road and last time we went, had to park on the road.

Also, beer was served waiter service and I just don't like pubs where you can't go to the bar or cellar!

Dreadful shame - I remember this pub from the old days when it was a proper pub. Two front rooms and no till - just poke yer head into the cellar for another jug.

Ah.. shame to hear that mate, i too like to be able to go to the bar lean over and make some poor attemt at flirting with the bar maid..... but my original point still stands that we should have some sort of meet soon, before we know it we will be arguing with our targa seals again about what in fact thier job is! And it will be dark by the time we get home from work.

Any suggestions Gio or others as to any decent pubs in the area that would be suitable?

I'm crazily busy this weekend, However i would be well up for meets on a monthly basis as suggested above.

There are a lot of good pubs around the bracknell area but i appreciate thats not central.

True, but there are a few zedders round those parts so might well be a better idea?

I would be willing to travel to see some old faces and a meet a few new ones. :thumbup1:

TBH Craig's list is a bit too far north so my knowledge of it is very patchy. South of the M40 I might suggest The Royal Standard Wooburn Commom Rd - seems to be well liked and has a big car park. But their website needs work!

The Jolly Woodman Burnham Beeches is quite close to that and also has a big car park. Plus was featured in Genevieve!

As for the Bracknellians amongst us, The Victoria Arms in Binfield is a cracking boozer but parking can be a little iffy. Although I do remember we had an annual steam-in with several traction engines filling the car park.

Another Crooked Billet - this time in Honey Hill just outside Wokingham used to be a wonderful country Brakspear house with a big car park. Not been there in years so would need you to check it out first.

Shame about the complete lack of carpark at the Hope and Anchor in Wokingham as that's run by a ZClub member. Wouldn't be too friendly to jam Wokingham up solid!

before we know it we will be arguing with our targa seals again about what in fact thier job is!

Sorry a little off topic, but that had me howling!

Nice one Gio, some decent suggestions there.... I love the fact that there is a Z31 right outside the front door on the homepage of the last one.

Mate, absolutely no need to apologise, we all know that you have been in the wars, and i'm sure i speak for all when i say that i'm just pleased to see that you are on the mend. I hope you don't feel as if i was treading on any toes by resurecting this thread, I just wanted to get out to a nice pub and meet a few more faces.

I think that your idea sounds like a good and fair one, so with that said...

I'm in.

1. ZX-TT +1

2. Pablito +1 (if she's not too busy shopping or sewing or something:lol:)

Welcome back Craig; it's good to see you on the mend mate - and no need for the apologies!

Hopefully I can pop along for an hour or so as well. It'd be good to meet a few more local Zedders!!

Richard:cool2:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Sorry dudes!!!

We are going to Guilfest on the 16th now so i won't be around to pop down the pub... on the plus note, we are meeting a few guys with zeds there.... anyone want to join us?

Guys can I have some suggestions please as to locations for the next pub meet, answers on a post card please

Thanks

Eddie r32 is a new member and he suggested the Red Lion at Hurley as a possible on his newbie thread. It's his mates pub I think. That would be fairly central.

I suggest the Wee Waif at Charvil, massive car park and cheap honest food. Happens to be my local too, so I could actually have a few beers lol.

Get my bro to drive my car home, happy days!!

But seriously i'd be up for wherever, and someone gee sherrgar up.

Hell no lol need to keep him away from brokeback it gets dangerious in the loo's lol

Kidding actually havent seen him in ages

I'm in.. name a time and place..... would be nice to have a shorter drive than the last few i've been too.

How bout The Bear in North Morton? Very good food, nice beer, next to the local cricket green.... they have aunt sally (oxforshire pub game) and boules court....

might be a bit pricey for lunch though.... There is also the Barly Mow wich is nice with a massive carpark, The crooked billet, The sweet olive... loads really.

I think you should decide Pabs. We did the last over Craigs way so we'll head your way this time. Then myself, Andy and Ryan are all close. As is Eddie if he's up for it? So we can be more local to us next time. Sound like a plan guys?
