Before you try anything, how old is the XBox? Microsoft had to conceed and fix the problem on any XBox that is three years old or younger. My son has just had the repair done by Microsoft under this extended warranty, it didn't cost a penny. Try the Microsoft website if your XBox is under three yerars old.

It would be covered by microsoft 3 year warranty as long as the microsoft seal is still intact (located under the face plate)

Just google "x-clamp fix" to see what would be involved for doing it yourself, it is rather straight forward, I've done quite a few

thanks for all your help:thumbup: looks pretty straight forward so gonna try fix it meself coz the xbox is over 3 years old so would have no warranty left.
