I'm thinking of buying a cheap second car. I'm curious what you all have and what you would recomend. Want to Get something that a decent size and under around £1500... It's just to be a run about really but would love somethig big like a pickup but that's doubtful for the money but if you can think of one let me know.

I also run a Pug 206 gti. Its horrible. I loath its existance...still.... damn nippy off the blocks. Cheap, recent and low mileage cars are plentiful, and the stereo/speaker set up is great quality.

Can't wait to sell it!!! roll on springtime.

What's the fuel consumption like on them mate? I guess if you know what what it was before the LPG that'd be great :-)

what are they like as cars too? I was actually looking at a 94 one of these yesterday :-)

Just picked up an 02 plate Mondeo TDCi 130bhp Estate with 92k on the clock and fully loaded with Ghia X pack (self dimming rear mirror, heated leather, global closure, climate control, cd changer etc) for £1900.

i like that vitara, will be changing shells car some time next year and im thinking along the lines of a small 4x4

prepare to laugh at me. just purcahsed a kia picanto or hyundia getz to you and i its 4 years old done just over 50k insuarnce group two up to 60 to the gal, cant falut it price £1100 got the cambelt done etc new rubber, 400 bucks. tax £30 so one veryu very cheap newis run about, ok not a motorwy lover but round town yeh its alright slow, brakes def work tho, found that out when i climbed back off the dashboard. feels like a europeon hatch.

as for vitaras, i had one. i treated it like a slut. through small rivers hit tree stumps did doughnuts in gravel carparks abused it in everyway possible crashed it througha fence one morning. it came back for more every damn time. we hiota tree stump one night the exhaust manifold went bright red turned it off for abit then starte dit back up once cool ran fine. sucked water in the engine it bogged for half a mile then woke up again. so yeh it was fun, but i did feel like a hairdresser in it it was awful on feul considering what it was. expensive to insure and really unless you flipped the seats there was no boot space. my friends focus was much more spacious for carrying stuff

sometimes only way to learn too:biggrin:

I use a citreon zsara hdi. most days cheap to buy and about 50mgn Diesel.

Not a truck but with front wheel drive it is good when it snows......

My Jeeps LPG system isn't working at the mo lol (may just have run out) so I've been running it on good ol' petrol recently. About £20 to 100 miles, but I do a lot of off road driving where although it is slow, theres a lot of speeding up and slowing down, low box high revving and general bootfulls lol.

As a car its brilliant, I love it. Very comfy and sounds great. People say the grand cherokee is like driving an armchair and it is. If its a '94 GC you were looking at it will be an import, they didnt do UK models until '96.

If I could get a car like your Jeep with the LPG conversion for that sort of money, I'd get one tomorrow. I HATE the snow and would really love a 4x4 at the moment

get ebay fishing janey waney :thumbup1:

Did you get yours off eBay? Would seriously have a diesel or lpg 4x4 for winter, it sucks not being able to go out driving when the weather is sh1t!
