Just bought a replacement jap spec tt auto 1994 model.Drove 140 miles home no probs, apart from speedo sometimes kept jumping from what ever speed i was doing and 0 mph. Its has been converted to mph. Also when i give her some welly the power light came on even thought she was only in drive. Any help thanks john

The power light will come one when you use kickdown regardless of the button being on.

Have a search for speedo problems as it sounds like you have either a dodgy converter or dry joints on the speedo cluster.

check the speed sensor on the rear driver side of the gearbox, make sure the black plastic end is pushed in fully and run a bit of superglue around the joint, these can work there way out over time, but as other have said most likely a dry joint on the cluster

Take the speed converter out of line and see if that solves the problem. This will put the car back into KPH and put the limiter back on, but it will tell you if it is the converter or somthing further

99.9% dodgy clocks . its a bit of a recurring fault . as mentioned above it could be your speed sensor . if all looks ok with the sensor try another speedo .
