I have just fitted a full set of Meister coilovers, lowered it so my rear 18x9.5 alloys / tyre has a finger width of space between tyre and arch. The car looks awesome sat at that height and un-believeabley still clears speed bumps!

The rears have a 30 offset which means the tyres are very close to the arch inner roll but for the passenger side this is absoulutely fine with no scrub but the drivers side hits the lip now and again which is well annoying.

When you look straight down from about i could phyisically see the passenger side leans in a good 10mm more than the drivers side so i checked the camber adjustmant and mad sure both where at maximum lean in but i cant get the drivers side to lean in as much as the passenger side?

Am i missing something somewhere?

take it to a wheel alignment specilist and ask them to check the 4 wheel alignment and camber if they cant then go elsewhere but get it checked or you could end up having to replace tyres either through premeture wear or have a blow out if it is rubbing when driving

all the best mate

I have had it all 4 wheel aligned but my passenger wheel leans in about 10mm more than my drivers and both on full tilt?

As dragon says, take it to a different alignment specialist just for a check, and if the dimensions are out, take it back to the original place and tell the to correct it.

sorry either im missing the point or i havent explained myself properly?

The passenger side is adjusted to maximum negative camber. (top of wheel leans in)

The driver side is adjusted to maximum negative camber. (top of wheel leans in)

The passenger wheel leans in about 10mm more than drivers side.... no more adjustment left on either side..

Surely they should both be the same when on maximum? so why is one 10mm more than other?

sorry people, hope this helps?

sorry with you now didnt realise both were at max adjustment already either adjustable camber arms or a temp cheat is to fit a washer between the camber plate and the body and retighten at a last resort

hope this helps

I have a similar issue with the front, when the wheels are equal neg one is prouder than the other at top centre of arch, i have 20mm spacers by the way. Ive had to put slightly more neg on one wheel to compensate, you really need a specialist to look over it. Its possible sad to say that its had a slight knock at some point, same for mine also but i aint had it checked yet.

I get you mate, surely it would suggest that one side as a more 'worn' suspension component/bush/bearing/balljoint for the camber to be so different.

If its not that then it might suggest a slight chassis problem, never know if its been in a small crash or walloped a curb hard at some point b4.

Surely though making the wheels lean in so much is going to wear you tyres down real fast?

might have had a slight knock in its past just never been sorted could have been like it from new also

The fact that the passenger side wheel does lean in more does kinda point towards a more worn suspension/bush component cos that side usually takes more of a beating on the roads going over drainage holes, potholes etc.

Your drivers side is probably more true even though you could do with it having more lean in.

Infact the same is true of my front end - non adjustable camber and yet when I had it checked the passenger side had more negative camber by far. Thats why I changed my lower and upper arms both sides to 'reset' it if you like.

Thanks mate, i knew we would all get there in the end just a difficult one to explain in writing (well for me at least, ha)

I would suspect its a worn bush to be honest, im gonna buy the rear adjustables from Luke at Z centre so i can "reset" the rear like you have done. I wont be using it for a while anyhow its 5" thick in snow in Hull at the moment..

I think that you normally want less lean in at the top unless you dont care that your wide low profile tyres will be wiped out on the inside edges in a couple of thousand miles. Rather get it set up for 0 camber because lowering it and wear/saggy bushes will already make it very negative. You can max out the top link inner side adjusters as a start and if your arches are fouled then its the arches you need to roll or grind out of the way. The rear steering arms also will need reset to make the toe-in just right and if this isnt done right the steering will feel well odd and may end up offset or pulling.
