Removing wastegate vacuum hoses

While I'm waiting for my JWT chip to arrive I thought I'd have a look at how to install the boost jets in the wastegate vacuum hoses.

Thing is, I can't actally get them off - they just seem to be welded on there.

Anyone got a method of getting them off without destroying them (don't fancy trying to replace them).

Mine were stuck on like a bloody house as well. What I did was warm the engine up and then sprayed a little WD40 on the connector bits. After much swearing (and this is a must every time I work on the car) the hoses came off without damage.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers fella!

Pull the clips off and use a pair of pliers to remove them. Grip it tighly and you will get just enough leverage against the metal pipe bit to slide it off.

Worked for me on a 91!

Thanks, Will give it a go tomorrow.

Not a lot of room in there is it?

Managed to sacrifice a couple more knuckles trying earlier, doing the springs at the w/end so will probably lose a limb wink.gif

Cheers Guys
