How the F@*% do you get the drivers door card off?

After fitting my amp & subs on Sunday I was so pissed off with the injustice that the terrible front speakers were doing to my otherwise pukka sounding system that I bought myself a set of JBL 2 ways today.

So desperate was I to get them in that I started fitting them in the rain. Passenger side - no problem, but the drivers side - how the hell do you get the trim panel off?

It seems to still be attached by the window switch bit, I've had to put it together again for tonight, but am gonna give it another go again tomorrow, any ideas where that last screw holding it all together is?

on the panel where the window switch is, is a small pocket with a little bit of carpet in it. Remove the carpet and there's 2 screws. Then remove the switch plate and there's another screw.

Hope that helps.

Lets see now, from memory;

Roll window half down, pop cover on outside top of door pillar, and remove screw, dont drop it.. remove the door pillar trim (screw was it's only securing point). Now, on inside of door;

Two screws on rear door pillar (now exposed)

Two screws on leading (hinge) edge of door card

Two screws on the rear (catch) end of door pillar, in a plastic trim piece that is where the belt goes into the door, and one screw on the face of the door card on this trim piece. Withdraw trim from around belt.

Two screws inside the "pocket" that forms the door handle - lift up the felt.

Remove the window switches - lever up from rear edge, being careful not to tear the doorcard with the clip at the leading edge.

There is one more screw underneath the switches, now accessible, on *some* cars (it often gets left out).

And thats it, four clips along the bottom edge, and it's off.

Refitting is reverse of removal, with the hard part being getting it to sit right at the top where it hooks over the inner door skin.

That do ya? smile.gif

Oh bl**dy hell Vijay, you beat me to it biggrin.gif

Thought it had to be under the carpet in the handle recess, was feeling around in it for screw holes but couldn't feel any.

Might have to go finish that now biggrin.gif

Cheers guys
