i think as i remember they are only listed for manual n/a's where as most are auto's :/

i will admit to trying a ebay chip for my n/a manual, ive got a socketted ecu so i had to see what they were like,

As for feeling a difference in the car, yeah i felt a difference, felt strong after 4k revs compared to standard......

but every morning from start up till warm and after a thrash, a very strong smell of fuel, so i got a delvin chip from a member from here,

Car feels just about the same, id say to be honest not as strong after 4k revs, but no smell of fuel anymore!, maybe throttle response on the delvin chip is better.

I ran the ebay chip for a around a month, but i thought its now getting colder in the mornings and the car will inject more fuel so didnt want to much bore wash!

But the economy between the chips is the same, around 60 miles to 20 quid, standard ecu i got around 75 miles to 20 quid.

It depends how and what the chip is mapped for. It may have had more grunt because of overfuelling on the map.

I would get a chip mapped properly to suit the mods of your car, I bought a chipped ecu which has a Devlin chip, but it has an agressive map and the VVT doesnt come in till about 6000revs, which is fine if your constantly flooring it, but not good on fuel lol.

When ive replaced the engine, im going for a remap.

Whats up with the current engine bud?

Wouldnt trust them with a barge pole (whos got a barge pole i hear you say). I know i used something similar on another car before and ended up getting engine problems. Would much rather trust someone that knows your spec and will custom make a chip for you rather than something that will probably just alter the fueling and cause potential problems.

thats why mine doesnt feel as strong on the delvin chip i reckon due to the VVT being later, VVT on the ebay chip must remain the same,

i rarely rev mine near to 6k revs, the v6 i dont think likes to be revved hard lol

Whats up with the current engine bud?

Hi Chris, my current engine is tappety and the vvt springs need replacing, the prop centre bearing or UV joint is "knocking underneath like a fat kid at the door of the sweetshop" :smartass:

I got an engine on a stand in my garage which ive been overhauling, from a manual car, new gaskets cambelt etc.. polished rocker covers, pipes, plenum and bypass, stainless manifolds, got rid of the EGR and anything else it can live without. It is a lower mileage one too from a known car.

Then ive got the manual box to go in with a single lightweight prop.

So when its fitted i may as well get it mapped properly. I could sort my current engine out, but the prop is for a manual and it will be nice to have a tidy of the engine bay when its out.

There are two versions of the Devin chip, the second, which is what people normally want, is a bit more aggressive than the other.

Only just seen your reply there mate and sorry to hear that, some nice bits there on the new one though, will be good to see !!!
