My lovely 1987 auto ZX has been on SORN for a year or two, but I'm starting to get it ready to get back on the road, possibly with a view to selling it (the hiccup was lack of funds).

It's a tidy little (or not so little!) car and ran very well until a combination of head gasket/radiator/thermostat probs took her off the road. These have now been sorted.

My question is basically am I foolish to think of selling her? I've never ever seen another of this vintage on the road and very rarely on the likes of e-bay. Is it worth keeping for its rarity value - always assuming I can afford to keep it that is?!

And tied to this... does anyone out there have any knowledge of what a reasonable example might fetch in these hard times?

Ta muchly...

Z31's they do pop up on e-bay now and again but price is condition dependant, ive seen good ones with mot go for over £2000.00 and not so good ones with no mot and work needed go for as little as £400.00 sorry to hear its of the road needing work i know that feeling

do you know exactly what is needed etc to get it fixed?.... please lets not see this turn in to a how much? thread though as you need to be a subbed member to sell :)

Chris

I would say keep it mate, the value of all 300zx`s are pants at the moment and can only go up from rock bottom prices, I too have a z31 and would like to sell, but knowing that it would fetch under a grand I would rather keep hold a little longer.

Thanks guys, you sort of confirmed what I thought!

I think the last sticking point was the thermostat, but I have a good mechanic working on it... After that it's mainly getting it thru an MOT etc. It does seem silly to try and sell at the moment but.......

The car's red, Japslap - I must work out how to attach an image to my profile!!

If you want a sig pic let us know and i will host one for you on pb, you will need to send me a pic through pm or email though :)
