Could somebody shed some light on this please?

I've fitted an ARC oil cooler off a BNR34 GTR to my 'Z'.

It came with, what I initially thought was a sandwich plate for the oil filter, but having just compared it to the HEL/MOCAL sandwich plate that I bought previously, I now think that the ARC part is for re-locating the oil filter from its original location and not a normal sandwich plate.

Here's a pic of the HEL/MOCAL sandwich plate

and here's a pic of the ARC part that I believe is for relocating the filter from the stock position

If this is the case then wouldn't a blanking plate with AN ports (if that's the correct terminology) be required also, attaching where the sandwich plate would normally have been fitted?

I guess I'd need this last part and an in line thermostatic in line sensor?

Yes you need two adaptors, one to kake the feed from the block and one to get the filter in the oil line, I take it that is the second picture, I cant see the otherside to check its the filter mount, but i gather it is

An old thread but looking at playing with the oil coolers and bits over the next few days so I'd appreciate some advice on a few things please

(1) Does this part (below) fit to the block where the oil filter is usually located

(2) and would I then run an AN connectors/braided hose off it.....

(3) to this part (below) with oil filter fitted, and run AN fitting/braided hose to one side of the oil cooler......

(4) and then run an AN connector/braided hose from the other side of the oil cooler back to the original part attached to the block?

or have I got that completely wrong????

The piece with the ziptie on it is just a sandwich plate to go between stock block mount and filter the have sensors put inbetween.
