As much as I love my Slicktop I can't help thinking I should sell and move on. Spent fortunes on it and still have manual conversion to do, but getting the itch for something else. Not helped by forum members selling Evos and Supras!!! Temptation........:helpsmilie:

I wouldn't normally consider an auto but Dave's Supra is sooooooooo lush, I would def have it if I had the spends!

Can you wait til I sell my slicky first please or you'll flood the market lol :tt2:

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!

keep at it and just wait till we see the sun again and you will love her all over again, Plus yours is far to good to sell at the min, Wait till spring if you did you would get alot more for it.

I know what you mean, going to wait until spring and see how I feel then. Think I need a car that suits my age, hair line and colour better and something I can get in and out of without dislocating my knees! :wheelchair:

I know, I know. I've got the gearbox and associated gubbins sat in the garage ready to be fitted, think that might re ignite my passion when it's fitted. And I know I've got a well nice car that looks the mutts, goes well, handles fantastically now and has wicked sounds, but..............

No But!!! you need a virtual slap lol for even thinking of selling it :)

I think I feel like you bud these low slung cars are getting harder to get in and out of but I would never sell them get a euro box to drive and when the sun is out take a drive in the zed, you know it makes sence:)

Sell mate.

Go buy something new and exciting and then next summer your heart will want a Zed so sell up again and go buy another Zed and enjoy the summer. :)

Must admit i have been thinking about it for some time now. But ive spent so much on it i dont think i could bring myself to do it

I tried to sell up shop about 18 months ago but when the car started developing faults, i had to reconsider.

Have you been drinking Dave? Far too sensible a post for you. Was expecting "sell it , and buy my supra"! Know what you mean though.

Glad you did?

Thing is.. if its not the car for you, then move on. No point staying attached to something just cos you spent a fortune on it. If I applied that philosophy I'd still be with my ex missus and never would have met the most wonderful person in the world (...:hurl: )

So, my point is - sell the slick top and try something else. Try a few test drives of a few different motors and see what floats your boat. Maybe something 4WD and rally inspired? Supra is gonna be a very similar beast to the Zed IMO - or not significantly different anyway (300+bhp RWD etc).

No one on here will judge you just cos you wanna be a car slag!

I wish I had your car! Its my fave one on here

Glad you did?

I sure am. Since transplanting my engine then overhauling my suspension, it's brought back the same feeling i had the day that i bought my first zed.

It makes no difference what you have spent on it, you won't get it back and your sense of wanting a change will not go away. I spent a fortune on my Zed and was thinking along the same lines but now its gone, Winters here, and the money is in the bank. There has gotta be someone out there desperate to sell something different but perky. I have started looking at Maserati's, the 4.2 V8's with paddle gearchange. They are getting cheaper by the week.

No its not just you, I keep having thoughts about selling up. ALthough im not sure what I would buy, I would be selling up to sink more into a house. Buying in January/Feb and I just cant decide what to do about my car. Either way I need a car as my van isnt for personal use. So its sell mine for whatever its worth (again hard to value!) and buy something cheaper to buy and to run/insure etc. Or just keep the zed think sod it I've got to have one hobby. I have worked out the finances for the house without selling the car but obviously it would make life easier having the money from it. However, I suppose I wouldnt have that much left after I had bought another car so is it really worth it? Just dont know!

I wish I had your car! Its my fave one on here

New tyres, new registration and renewed enthusiasm. Gave it yet another clean and polish, kept standing back admiring it. Really need to crack on with the manual conversion. I'm not an auto kinda guy!! Might stop my evo craving......

Get the conversion done mate.. It will change your mind. You can have a spin in mine if you like.

yeah I agree.

When I had my first 300zx n/a, I sold this to get a scooby. While it was fun to drive for a bit, it wasn't the same as the 300zx. So got rid of the scooby and went back to the 300zx and not looked back since.

I've had a scooby and loved it. Think the only thing stopping me feeling the same way about the slicktop is the auto box. Might try and find a garage to store and sorn it until spring whilst saving for the conversion. To me a Zed needs to be manual.
