Right let me say this because of a few fanatics you cant blame all muslims of being anti British and nobody here has said that but I do know how it feels to be on the wrong side.Comming from Belfast in Northern Ireland you were treated as a terrorist when ever you flew out of the province even though I have served in the British army I was still not trusted when ever people heard the Irish accent so I can sympathise with muslims reading this thread thinking they are being persecuted but you are not its only the fanatics that are not wanted.

I agree with jap, you guys should make sure that your anger is directed towards the terrorists and not their religion. Do you all realise that most muslims are peaceful?

 

I have no religion, my mother is buddist and father is hindu, my grandfather (a srilankan) fought for the british army. i grew up in a church of england school in kilburn, and two of my close friends are muslim. I will not hear that someone on this forum is talking about bombing all muslims or burning korans or joining the BNP. If i come and do a sh*t in your garden are you going to come and do the same in mine? Dont drop yourselves to that level.

 

If you want to be angry, then be angry with the government. The government allows this behaviour for a reason. The government wants to incite racial hatred. For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm half Italian and half Mautitian but born in the UK. I consider myself Bristish and very proud of that fact. I love England but hate that it no longer has a backone and anyone can come here and piss on it. Makes my blood boil the way this country is now. I'm not saying that things were right when my Mum & Dad came over here but the difference is they came to the UK with respect and didn't try and make this country like the lands they came from. Why the hell does this country let people change it. If you want to live like you did where you came from, go back. I honestly wish this country would get it's identity back.

What this mob did was terrible and an utter disgrace and was designed to provoke and anger. And guess what? It worked. Judging by the vile comments on this thread, it looks like they achieved their aim, which was to incite racial and religious hatred and help them towards their goal of a 'fight to the end'.

 

If you read the article (despite it being the Sun), there were up to 30 of them. Only 30. You will note that the far right was also present in large numbers, which makes one wonder doesn't it? A co-incidence that that both groups happened to be in the same area at the same time?

 

Either way, these people are anarchists and hell bent on causing trouble and despite being the tiniest of minorities, the gutter press seem to be putting as much effort as possible in to glamorising them and painting them as representatives of Muslims or British Muslims. Why else would they interview them, publish their views and effectively encourage them to make more and more proposterous and offensive statements? I am sure that they are loving all of the attention that they are getting.

 

99% of the Muslims in this country have little or no time for them and simply cannot understand why the press and the media keep on promoting them and giving them air time. These people have been shunned by their communities and are seen as the enemies within. Yet, the government will not do anything about them. I have my own theories about why this may be but that's besides the point.

 

What's really sad is to see the type of comments made by people that I respect and like on this forum, and an ugliness that I did not know existed. Reacting in such a manner makes us no better than them so I hope that once we've all cooled down and thought rationally, we will realise that we are falling in to their trap.

 

This is not a political or a religious forum, but once again please remember that these people are thugs and have little or nothing to do with Islam. It has simply become fashionable and convenient for both sides to use Islam, as it helps to gather the masses on both sides. Similarly, both sides are completely ignorant of what the Koran actually says or what the religion teaches. Instead, preachers on both sides spread hatred and tell their followers what they want to hear.

I am sure that none of those 30 have ever read the Koran and probably don't pray either. If they had done either, they wouldn't even have dreamed of protesting.

 

Finally, let's not forget that Hitler was a Christian. I'd hate to think that Jews see every other Christian living today in the same light...

This country has gone down the pan, but at least our students have had some back bone and demonstrated. However, as always, there were the minority who took it too far. Im a student myself but I wouldnt dream of protesting in such a violent way, those rioters do not represent the majority. Just like those fundementalists. Anyone should be allowed to protest peacefully, but as soon as violence breaks out the police must step in and arrest everyone or use those water cannons. The government is letting this rubbish happen, just like the french government allowed the riots in france recently.

It goes without saying that the news media are controlled by the government. I never use the bbc site or watch bbc or sky or cnn, i only use reuters. All others are government biased.

the police have to remain impartial, and keep the peace they were most probably boiling inside, i work in muslim country and the amount of good musims today that have seen this on the news over here in kazkahstan and appologised to me and other expats on behalf of the crazy extremist minority is astounding......those people who did that are as British as you or me .....the country has gone to the dogs with political over correctness, and human rights they are giving other muslims working and living among us a very bad name as it is human nature to tar all with the same brush....its about time new laws were introduced to stop all kinds of fanatical protests such as they did in the 70's when radical and extreme shin fein were banned and their litterature confescated, members arrested and banned from the UK .....why cant we do it to any extremist these kind of protests only cause civil unrest and hatred ....there will be back lash no doubt and some poor innocent sod walking home will get it from a sun reading left winger just for having a beard and being dark skinned and wearing eastern muslim dress and chances are he wil be a decent bloke ..there is no justice it just perpetuates until something breaks

It seems to me that treason doesn't work anymore. The goverment allowed them too much PC that they now have more rights than we do.

 

I don't mean to lower myself to say them and us, but there is no other way of describing it. Anyone that burns a poppy reef during a 2 minute silence should be deported.

Some very good points here indeed however i have a slightly different view on this. I blame the "Media" the press incites more racial hatred then any minority group as if it wasnt for the press everyone would have been happily getting on with there day as appose to this type of thread starting. I think the press need to learn when to keep there gobs shut.

 

Yes there are minorities out there that will always commit these awful acts, But the only reason they continue is for the publicity. Remove that and the world would be a much happier place.

erm no....not even remotely. i can understand the frustrations across the board but voting for a group like that aint going to alleviate or solve anything as there only angle for gaining votes is taking advantage of peoples frustrations when they have have no real other political solutions.

I think one thing we all agree on is that there is freedom of speech and then there is freedom of speech, and this blanket attitude of "anything goes" is simply unacceptable and has to stop.

 

Yes, they should never have been allowed to do what they did, and as soon as they started chanting offensive slogans etc., they should have been stopped and even arrested if they refused.

 

The same goes for far-right rallies which are often allowed under the pre-text of "freedom of speech" and often result in rioting, closure of shops and businesses and ultimately financial loss for the local economy. A recent example is a BNP rally in a Northern town in the summer on a Saturday. Virtually all shops closed by 12pm; I'd hate to think how much business was lost that day.

 

On a wider note, ANY protest of any kind which is likely to incite hatred and violence should not be allowed. Period. People can protest or hold a demonstration, but it should be factual and articulate. Easier said than done but you have to start somewhere!

 

Similarly, any demo held to coincide with a particular fixed day/date (e.g. the example on this thread) should also not be allowed. This should be applied fairly and firmly across the board.
