Brake warning light...

My brake warning light keeps coming on. It's not the ABS light (my ABS doesn't work anyway...) - it's the red one that sort of looks like this... ((!))

The brakes feel OK and there's enough fluid in the reservoir.

Any clues?

Well it's supposed to be a fluid level warning light, so maybe the sensor is dying or has a bad electrical connection.

This is your hand brake light yes!.The switch may be faulty or come loose!

All i was saying was may be the handbrake switch may be faulty or does it know when to come on or off all by it's self!!

OK, thanks folks - I'll check both.

The light comes on a few seconds after moving off (cold start) and goes off again after the engine has been running for 15-20 minutes. Weird.

The HICAS light will do exactly this when low on p/s fluid, the fluid heats up after some minutes driving, expands and reaches minimum volume and the sensor switches off the HICAS light.

Maybe the Brake Fluid (sensors) does the same???
