hey folks bit new to this site just bought my first 300 2 days ago and having bit of a problem already my heating isn't working properly its blowing out air but i cant seem to turn up the temperature please help me

Check to see if someone has done a matrix bypass, the heater matrix on these cars a prone to failure!

To check to see if its had a matrix bypass, take a look at the rear of the engine, for 2 pipes that come out of the firewall. If they are both attached to the engine, just behind the plenum(intake) then its likely that the heater matrix is fubarred. If its died, you will either have a burnt water smell and oily residue on the carpet and foot rest, in the drivers footwell.

If there is one pipe at the rear of the engine in a U shape and you can see the 2 water pipes disconnected, then someone has done a matrix bypass. This keeps the water flowing around the engine, but you will get no heat inside the cabin.

 

If its the matrix, do a search on here, there is plenty of info on how to replace, where to get the part from. HTH

where do i find the heater matrix

The heater matrix is right behind the dash in the centre. If you look down by your clutch pedal or if auto in the drivers footwell where the pedal would be, you will see a little black box, about 8"x4". Look behind the box and you will see a black cover, the heater matrix is behind there. Take a look at some threads (heater matrix) you can find what you need to know.
