has anyone got nitrogen filled tyres the local garage is doing this for £1 a wheele just wondering if anyone has this and if it makes a difference to fuel economy and grip

Featured Replies

IIRC the main thing is they don't lose any pressure depending on hot/cold

i asked the guy at the garage but he hasnt had any feedback from anyone thats done it

would it be worthwhile?

Only relevant for extreme driving/track work. The benefit is the pressures don't change as the tyre warms up. The GTR is filled with Nitrogen as standard.

Yeah but the GTR is designed to go round the Nurburgring in 7:20 odd seconds. I doubt you'd notice the benefit in the Zed. But for a £1 a tyre what can go wrong.

You'd need to remember to top them up with nitrogen, should they develop any leaks.

No point in having the advantages of nitrogen filled tyres then topping them up with air. Would kinda defeat the purpose.

thought about that already.all four wheels have been reseald..is £4 every couple of months worth it

the deal is if you fill up with nitrogen now then any fill up they'r after is same price other wise its £2.50 a tyre

My mate who does it told me its supposed to reduce road noise too, how, i dont know

i think they'll just say anything to pedal their nitrogen to be honest. They thought it would take off in a big way but no one seems bothered so they're probably left with 20 odd canisters of the stuff.

In my opinion, it does absolutely nothing that air doesn't do.
