Jap Lighting??

Just in the process of sorting out the lights around my Jap spec TT.... Successfully done the DIY bit for the dipped beam lamps, but now I have a problem with the 'sidelights'.

The supposed sidelights on the front of the car (the UK manual I have referes to them as 'clearance' lights) seemingly have the wrong bulbs in - one is brighter than the other. So I want to get in a change the lamps.

Trouble is, I can't!!!

The (UK) manual says there should be two screws on the lens, one either side. Trouble is, there's only one screw (positioned on the outer side of the lens) that just seems to turn and turn without releasing. There also seems to be 2x 1cm separate pieces of lens plastic on either side of each lens, which seems to want to come out, but won't (already broken one trying..... doh)

Have also tried going in through the back, by removing the indicator units first, but no joy.

Anyone else had a problem with the front sidelights on a Jap spec?? Any advice?? Not serious I know, but having different wattage lamps in them looks so poxy!!!!!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!

Take the indicators out and get to the back of the side/fog lights. There are three 10mm nuts that need to be removed to get the assembly out. You will find that the standard bulbs are 35w non-halogen (I think), you can replace them with 55w standard UK bulbs. The two screws on the front are for beam adjustment only.
