Runs will consist of 15 cars per group, running through to the south side up to testos roundabout and back through to the North end

Tunnel is 1.6 miles long so plenty of exhaust appreciation, 1st & 2nd gear runs only

Normal Traffic law applies outside of the tunnel, and lets not forget its Midnight & there are residents near both entrances

this is for charity and allows you to have a bit of fun, we have all had the odd blast through a tunnel, but this allows you to do a standing start and possibly get upto the top speed of second gear and find out what ya car sounds like

i doubt my car will be ready otherwise i would be up for this (only ten mins from my house aswell lol)

i'm trying to find someone with decent equipment and editing skills to do it mate, but there will be

would have loved to come to this but my zed is off the road for winter (pi**ed off)

what he said

GUTTED

Might have to take the Prelude just to make sure we get along to this

Really looking forward to this, not had the zed in the Tyne Tunnel yet, I deafened everyone in the Dartford Tunnel a couple of weeks ago and was awesome, got loud pipes me :gunsmilie:

Hope the weathers clear, I might brave the cold and drop the targa for total ear destruction yeah!

72 mph in 2nd just tride

I've had a comment removed as i stated the running speeds of 1st and second, now I'm going to reply to this one, I'm not deleting it due to the fact that realistically, you will not be driving through the tunnel blasting it in second. although the running gear is long due to the ratio, the chances of running through a tunnel maxing second gear isn't going to do your engine any good and isnt going to sound particularly nice. as too achieve that speed, you will be more or less red lining it.

Just remember you get the better exhaust note in lower revs anyway. i think the idea of this, is a run slow with a few blips here and there, too "hear" the tone of your exhaust. not scream the crap out of your engine in the hopes that higher revs sound good and to blast through the tunnel in record speed.

i removed the speed posts as it is being noted that the police and organisers are turning a blind eye to the speed, its not however condoning it, please keep comment of top speed to yourself, organisers will be viewing this thread and its hoped that if the run is a succses that it will become an anual thing

I don't believe this is turning into a conversation about top speeds in 2nd etc, there will be a 15 second gap between cars entering the tunnel from the start, drive respectably and there will be plenty of room for acceleration and blipping action.

Trying to max your car in second is not going to do it any good and besides there will be no room for that with the 15 second gap, the idea of a tunnel run is to hear the amplified sound effect of the exhaust note which as vodkashots quite rightly pointed out sounds better from low revs, not when it's screaming it's tits off in the redline.

Gutted gutted gutted my car will be SORNed for this - the Apexi twin exhaust would have sounded awesome.
