I am trying to buy a new battery for my 1990 TT auto import, as the old one died. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information from suppliers. H******S and two Internet suppliers want to give me a battery far to large to fit in the limited space. They also have three different specifications for the battery.

 

Does any one know the official Nissan specified Reserve Capacity and Cold Cranking Amps [its not given in the online manual or handbook], I can then find one that fits. The old battery I think was wrong anyway being only 45 Ah, but it did fit.

Thanks, I just looked up the item from JeffTT, but that battery is still to big at 261mm x 175mm x 210mm the max size to fit in my bay is 230x175x200. I may have to re position the alarm system to free up space. There is a customised welded panel in the way that the siren and multipoint earthing system is bolted to.

Andwood, nice to see another Worthing member. go to Going spare in Wick Street Littlehampton. i got a brand new 75a battery from them, perfect fit and 3 years guarantee. Was by far the cheapest for the best battery i could get.

If you decide to remove the aftermarket setup thats restricting your battery space and want the correct battery then the Battery type is 068.

 

Ignore what suppliers have listed for the Z, they are wrong. Battery supplier books list the Z31 battery for the Z32, which has different dimensions and the terminals the wrong way round.

It's a while since I have checked the prices, but in Costco, 3 years ago, I got a Bosch battery for a Merc E class for £34 +vat. Also, if you have a Halfords trade card,(not difficult to get one) they chop about 40-45% off their shelf price for batteries.
