Right, decided to bite the bullet and get over my phobia of doing a ECU check (yes i know very strange but for some reason it made me feel ill about doing it?)

 

Im showing codes

 

11 and 21

 

11 is crank angle sensor / wiring harness

21 is ignition circuit, or PTU / wiring harness fault

 

Sooo..... now what ? lol

Well i reset the ECU yesterday, tried her today, still have this strange hesitation when trying to give it a little bit (i mean just getting on boost) checked the ECU when i got back, and low and behold, Code 55 all clear??

 

So now im totally stumped.

Well, going to change the PTU over for a known good one so see if that helps as i have a spare, if that fails going to do the CAS and see if that solves it. other wise its change the Coil packs over and the sparks, also change the temp sensor for a known working one as well, god its a good job i have a spare zed for all this lol, other wise i could be chasing ghosts.

 

Strange how its still doing it even though the ECU is showing code 55 all clear?

 

I have my ConZults cable through now, but annoyingly i have a modern laptop with no Com port on it aarrrggghh, anyone tried using a Com to usb converter and getting success?

just buy a cheap old laptop on ebay i picked 1 on for 30 quid delivered last week just for using with the zed

where did you get conzult cable and what software do you need?

Ive got the genuine conZults diagnostic software with serial, came as part of the car and package, along with the ConZults cable.

OK, verdict on the PTU change. :blink: she didnt want to start, so i changed it back to the old PTU, fiddled with the wires, cleaned the connections. put her back together and took her for a test drive.........

 

Dear Richard, not sure what I've done, but she is no longer pushing 14psi on boost. for some reason, she is now pushing 16psi on boost. and boy does she shift. and no more hesitation, Eh? fookin cars......

 

I have no idea what is going on lol

 

Also found i have a fuel leak at the FPR on one of the little pipes under it going to the Injector rail. so looks like ill be dealing with that then, but much easier than chasing a Hesitation issue.

Tried my standard USB to serial conertor that I've had for ages, it didn't work ended up buying the one Dan @ DTA sells and know works fine.

Did you change the com port settings on the USB, as far as im aware the Software looks for the connection on com's 1 and 2, any different and it will fail to find it, its a bit fiddly to do, and sometimes requires software but it can be done.

mine works fine with a usb to serial lead, but i use OBD scantech, has more features on it than the free version of conzult, sometimes it doesn't want to connect tho, but a bit of messing about and it does, but i can never remember how i did it!

Maybe your mates maf is plonked?

 

Nope, must of been someone else, groover had my old MAF.
