when putting my foot down and then breaking heavily i sometimes am hearing a bong noise the same as the noise when you leave your lights on and turn off the engine and open the drivers door- no lights come on on the dash - i just here the noise- at first i thought it was the radio but then i had a different cd in today and i heard it again. any ideas as to this sound and what the car is trying to tell me??

IIRC, some J-spec cars still have the speed warning in place. IE when you reach 100km/m (just over 60mph) you get the audible warning - something to do with the speed limits in the Land of The Rising Sun!

That's because your car has had a (possibly dodgy) km/h to mph conversion and the ECU still thinks your car is in km/h!

 

Best get it checked, as it will effect things like speed sensitive steering etc. You want to make sure the ECU knows how fast you are really going!!

i havent got a dodgy kmp to mph conversion as its all standard kph clocks still i havent got it converted yet
