Have a slight issue, with the boost controller turned off, it reads peaks of 13 PSI, the stock boost controller solenoids are still connected, so why is it reading so high?

it has upgraded t28 turbos

front mount intercooler

air intake filter

full turbo back exhaust.

John Dixon ECU chip

shouldnt it be at the normal 9 PSI until i up the boost? and it reads in real time so its not a previous reading.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well normally stock it should peak at 9PSI, then the waist gates open, you cant change the waist gate, but the actuator one it. did they come with the upgraded turbos?

Also, I'm pretty sure you can adjust the actuators (someone else will correct me if I'm wrong on that one)

Are you sure the Boost controller is off?

no i bought the turbos myself, and yes 100% its off, as when its on i run 14 -16 psi, its a greddy profec B spec 2 so very easy to use and turn on and off. but even with the standard turbos it used to still read 12 or 13 psi on max boost. you can heavily notice the difference with it turned on and up, most gears feel like a rollercoaster :-)

me too... weird hey. where do boost jets go? im positive it doesnt have any as i just had a new engine with uprated turbos fitted.

if it has upgraded turbos (T28's), it probably has upgraded/stiffer/adjustable WG actuators as well.

This will cause the base boost pressure of the turbos to be higher

it was reading like this with stock turbos too.

no boost jets. has an Electronic Boost controller anyway. and checked all pipework for boost jets.

never mind, again one of the very mysteries of this car.

Can't believe you started another thread about high fuel consumption after reading this thread.... Not only that, you blatantly spat the dummy when people couldn't give you a precise answer based on a very brief synopsis.

Totally uncool - dude:no:

LEO R32- having uprated turbos is not the cause for high fuel consumption. many on here have larger turbos than me, including AlanZ and return better economy, even Z world told me it was high, and the mods paid no real relevance in the consumption. this thread is completely different however, so why again make a stupid comment.

im not trying to argue fella, its just unless you have something positive to say, why make the effort to be negative?

TBH I took offence at the way that you asked for the other thread to be closed. People were trying to help you - even if they weren't actually getting to the cause of what your high consumption was. Anyway - I won't clog up this thread with this. :offtopic:

ok persnoal appology to you LEO-32GTS. again didnt mean it like that, just didnt see the need to contiune a thread which had basically been answered.
