brake light on

I have a issue, was driving the car this morning and noticed that the brake light was still on on the dash, so pulled over and checked the hand brake but it had released all the way to the bottom of its travel. also check the fluid level in the engine bay and that was half way between full and empty.

Now i cant remember seeing a ABS sensor or anything, so do we have them? take it its time to change the pads?

stupid answer mate, are you brake bulbs good. mine were ok when braking but the element for when lights were on had gone, caused the brake light on dash to light up.

Nope separate light for that on the dash called "lights" lol

Thanks Dave. have a feeling its not ABS though, but those little pin type things that warn of brake pad level low might be the cause fronts are looking a bit low, think ill jack the car tomorrow and whoop the wheels off and check the pads.

IIRC Z's don't have pad wear indicators, light comes on with low fluid and park brake.:confused1:

strange, fluid ok park brake off, unless my drums are sticking? yet the handle only comes up 8 clicks before its fully on. unless its just not releasing properly? wheres the switch for the light? could be a sticky one?
