There is a difference between the Series 1 and 2 onwards doors, as they have side impact bars in them.

I cant remember weighing a door myself, so I must have got the figure from somebody else that has. They are very heavy, 70-80 ibs sounds about right.

all galss is going except front and rear screens and the inner skin of the doors will be cut out.

your doors shouldn't have the bars in them, mine are completely empty now and weigh next to nothing

How r u going to do the roof? And how do u open the doors now everything is gone?

a compamy called auto cross is doing the roof and cage, if you're intersted in a kevlar roof, let me know.

the door handles (inside and out) are still there as well as the locks but, all electrics are gone so, no central locking anymore.

Hmmm So your cutting ur roof off? I'm thinking of gutting the hatch as it's doubled skinned.

na, the roof "I" beam is staying, a single mould will be made to look like both targas so when it's on, it will look stock but, will come off in one piece ;)

As Yowser says there is a big difference in the weight of S2 doors compared to the lighter S1's all down to the side impact protection.

Get the mould and I will have one. Problem is mark will it keep water out? I was thinking how about taking the t tops apart and having Perspex made inlace of the glass?

you can do that and take the glass out but, the reason for making a whole new roof pannel is to give the roll cage room to be fitted tight to the door to allow for helmet room.

will it be water tight??? i'm not even gona answer that! tut tut :D

jimbo, if you're serious about a light weight roof, the more they make, the cheaper they are. it won't be for a few months yet. let me know dude
