Well, cut a long story short. I bought my car with the intention of putting the engine into an E36 BMW.

I then decided not to bother and stick with the ZED.

When i bought it, there were a few things that needed doing, but didn't bother me as i only wanted the running gear. Since deciding to keep it, these thing will need to be sorted.

I can see myself spending a couple of grand just getting it as i want.

I thought about selling, and i put it on ebay. It didn't sell.

It owes me £1500. The engine and box seem good. I drives nicely. But the interior and body are tatty.

Would i see at least £1500 back if i broke it?

I have the time and space, just wanted it to stay complete.

I didn't know what to do, but tonight ive seen another zed for sale that i wouldn't want to do anything to, other than extract power!

What should i do? Advise needed!!!

It's like breaking most cars, there are a few items that will be in high demand but the rest of it will take ages to sell. Look on eBay for Z parts in advanced search, completed items. There you will see what has sold recently and what hasn't.

Some of the best advice I have ever seen re breaking a Z32.

I couldnt have said it better myself.

Prices of parts like the prices of cars overall have dropped sharply in recent years.

a few years back most Zeds were probably worth more in bits, but now it's just as Pete says. Eventually the bits will be worth plenty when all the raggy and unloved cars have been scrapped but we are talking years down the line.

20+ years ago i had several Jensen Interceptors, (none cost more that £1k -long since sold unfortunately) but the bits and pieces I had lying in my garage i put on eBay recently and people paid great money for them. Amazing, just look at ford Escort , Capri, XR2 etc bits on the bay.

Plus, when i buy another zed, i'd have all the spares i need!
