Oh F*#k! detonation sensor replacement

Hi guys, my car has been running in safety boost for the past while and after running an ECU diagnostic, it confirmed that the detonation sensor is faulty.

From what I've heard this is a bastard of a thing to replace, does anyone have instructions on how to replace it?

Thanks guys,

Brian

Large job..

You can bypass the sensor with a resistor.. Someone will tell you the correct value I'm sure..

Yup, something between 500kOhm and 1MOhm will do.

Thanks guys, How exactly do I bypass it? how safe is it to do?

Guess WHO wrote it :-)

Alternatively, you can simply connect the resistor into the ECU side of the connector.

And you should have it somehow replced.

I'm working on a SIMPLE re-location of the sensor...but I'm doing the final tests, and the "how-to" is not finished yet.

Maybe I'll get some time during X-Mas

I've bypassed my det. sensor - didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference, apart from now getting an ECU code "55" :-)
