Rear wheel play !

Hi, people.

Checking that my new rimms fit, with the wheel off the floor- gently tightend nuts- & the hub & shaft was rattling around somewhat! Is it thr rear bushes gone or the U/J, or the hub mountings. Sound familiar to anyone! I've looked but cant exactly define the problem frown.gif

Thanks, harve.

Hi Craig,

Its side to side (back to front) unfortunatly, hicas you reacon! Ok how do i fix it? adjust it or another cheque LOL.

A bit concerned as i dont want to spank a set of so2's 18's in a month!

Any ideas on fix ??????? cheers.

harve.

you need to get underneath and find out whether inner or outer are knackered, or if it is the rack.....

i had an inner joint and socket replaced by a dealer, parts were 120, labour 1 hour (although it took them nearly a day.... damn quotes biggrin.gif )

get it on a ramp and check it out...

I had the same problem recently. was cheaper to get a 2nd hand rear rack (£100), rather than replacing the hicas ends.

Easy to tell if its the rack or not - does the opposite wheel do the same??? Mine have also gone so could be time for a courtesy order harve wink.gif My outer ball joints have gone - the easy end fortunately biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

harve the hicas links cost about £62 each from nissan up the road from me.

They have next day stock.

I have replaced mine.

Both the left and right side ball joints had play in them.

Here's a pic:

I got them from Courtesy Nissan for around 40$ a piece.
