The vehicle manufacturer will specify a max towing weight, so if you look that up and the the weight of the Zed that should give you a fair idea. Obviously allow for the weight of the trailer. HTH.

i used my peugeot expert 1.9 plumbing van to drive down to Montlucon (500 miles from calais) with a trailer to collect my zed after i killed it playing with a DB7 for too long, then back to dover then west sussex, nearly 700 miles in one trip, Hell of a jouney.

How far have you got to travel.

i have pulled two zeds on trailers before, using a citreon c5 deisel 2.0, no problem.

to be fair if your gonna pull a car plus trailer you need a 4x4 . its not so much the pulling its the stopping . if you had to put the anchors on if its not a braked trailor you will just slide . also there is the nose weight to take into account (the weight of the towing hook on your towbar ). cars are generally 50-75 kg where as a 4x4 is usually about 250kg .

maximum tow weights are generally 85% of towing vehicle . when you think a zed is upwards of 1500kg and the trailor is gonna be around 500kg you need a vehicle around 2300kg to pull it . RANGE ROVER TERRITORY.

hope this helps

about 170miles each way, planning on leaving about 3 in the morning get there early and get back, just checked on wieghts and it should be fine, plus its motorway all the way which should make it a little easier and i know the trip well its all down hill on the way home :)

When I brought mine I hired a flatbed for £90 for the day. Made it so easy

i use my trusty Ford Mundane diesel estate to tow Zeds on trailers.

Make sure the trailer you are using has proper brakes that work. Also important to get the nose weight just right.

Too light and you will get nasty trailer snake.

Too heavy and your tow car steering/handling will be dodgy.

Im not entirely sure its all legal

Max speed 60mph. allow double your normal braking distance. Care needed on picking away from rest.

Too light and you will get nasty trailer snake.

been there and did not like it ......................
