Hi,

I stumbled by this picture when looking at vg30dett engine conversions into S-bodies (my friend has one).

This engine bay, single turbo conversion looks mint; but can anyone explain how it is done? and what is going on under the hood from this picture? It confuses me!

I've seen ants and its a great piece of work but this looks like a completely different set up / layout.

Nice Left hand drive 200sx S14 with a VG30DET in it :P, is your friend by any chance Fry tompei?

You can see the inlet to the turbo, the black pipe on the right is the outlet that runs to the intercooler (blow off valve fitted to it). That will enter intercooler, then single outlet from cooler that spilts into 2 pipes which are the two blacks ones, one to each throttlebody.

That set up is to big for the Z as not enough room.

Its the exhaust housing inlet thats confusing me, is it just running off one bank. Or is the exhaust from the other piped in somewhere?

Looks mint whatever is going on

You can't tell from that picture but it should be run from both banks of cylinders so there is enough flow to spool up. Mine is run off both.

How come it looks so simple in that bay aswell, when 300zx looks like someones dropped a load of pipes in the bay
