hey everyone about half an hour ago on my way home from my gf's my clutch had gone, as i came down the road it made a funny noise like a noisy pulley ? then it felt like the car was driving weird like pulling on its own, as i pulled over put my hazards on the clutch stayed where it was and i struggled to get it out of gear. i called my dad who was a mecanic for 20 years to help luckily i was only down the road, and he managed to get it back on the drive. im so gutted my clutch has gone, i know its gonna cost houndreds my dads gonna look at it tomorrow for me. feels liek something always goes wrong for me :(

sorry to here that but it is a serviceable item and doesnt last forever. its fairly straight forward to change so the only real drag is paying out for a new clutch kit.

yeah its pretty gutting im gonna be without a car for a while, how much for a clutch kit ? and how much to get one fitted ??

you said your dad was a mechanic , get him to fit it.

look on the z centre website they have the clutch kits on there.

also check with mjp (mike feeney)

clutch is pretty straight forward to change on these cars. and you may as well do a transmission fluid change while you're there. Wouldn't say its a hard job just time consuming. If doing it your self leave the prop as a whole (unless you are lucky enough to find a one piece under there) then just undo and drop the center bearing, it will pull the prop out of the gear box on its way to the floor, glide it out your self so as not to let it hit the deck and move the prop to one side, should be enough flex at the ends to get it clear. this way it saves having to mark where the join is. that is of course if your center bearing is in good condition other wise it would be a good opportunity to change that as well.

Now assuming you have a TT, Zcenter do a kit for £212, that also gives you a new clutch bearing as well.
