One more reason not to take out a Sky subscription then! But Sky don't own Channel One, it's Virgin, which is still available on Freeview.

Nice to see that Challenge is coming to Freeview though :D

Sky took over Virgin Television a few months ago, probably why the name changed.

Didn't hear about that one.

sorry to say Sky now own virgin TV thats why its has changed to channel.

From my works forum.

Today we can announce that we have moved closer to finalising our acquisition of Virgin Media Television (VMtv). After confirmation of regulatory approval in the Republic of Ireland, we have now formally taken ownership of the channels. VMtv has also now been re-named the Living TV Group.

Although we now own the channels, we can’t take over day to day management of them until we have obtained UK regulatory approval, which is being worked through at the moment.

Chief Executive Jeremy Darroch told today@sky: “The Living TV Group is a great business and this acquisition demonstrates our commitment to investing in the best content. I’m excited about the opportunity ahead with an enlarged and even stronger group of distinctive and high-quality channels.”

Under the terms of the deal, we will acquire LIVING, LIVINGit, Challenge, Challenge Jackpot, Bravo, Bravo 2 and Virgin1 and their related websites. A new name for Vigin1 will be announced in due course.

starting to find more reasons to ditch sky! thats another!

dan.

yup, getting sick of sky, have been since they changed the movie channels around, nowt but shite on now

I used to have Sky for ages, only the standard package, but found that I was watching it less and less, so packed it all in. I've looked at getting it again, but to be honest I think it's a total waste of money for what I'd get out of it. Bravo would of been one of the channels to have it for..... their excuse is that it's too much like Sky 1... Bo***x! Oh and apparently Channel One was too much like Sky 3.... but it didn't stop them from charging people to watch them for years did it?! ;)

i knew one day it would come to this....get the nation paying crack cocain prices for a product thats as addictive when you aint got it and for good measure make sure you got them tied into contracts so leaving is a tiny bit harder than changing channels:no: For all the above is why ive never subscribed to a sky package and just trundle along with my £9.99 freeview box:thumbup1::thumbup1:

i have been thinking of getting rid of sky, cause all i watch is sky sports and mutv but have to pay a fortune just to get them, is there no one else that give these channels without starting off charging you £20 per month then charging on top for these channels?

I have sky for the sports,,,i love my footy,,cricket,,,,cricket is a joke on terrestial tv,,, u get 30 mins highlights,,,,think u can get sky sports 1 and 2 on that bt vision thing,,,but not in hd,,which is what im used to now....

Sky have the audacity to tell us that they are doing us a favour and giving us the best of TV broadcasting…

Strangely enough we were getting all of that before either free with the TV licence or on other cheaper systems…..

They just paid a shed load of money to the suppliers, stuck their label on it and charged us a whack load more to watch it !!!!!

Monopolising bar-stewards!!! Bring on the revolution !!!

How much does everyone pay for entertainment?.... you know TV, broadband, phone….

I remember not too long ago when I only had a home phone bill and it was about £100 per quarter…… (yes I know also the TV licence).

An it’s about time we got rid of the TV licence as well… it should come direct from tax and thereby eliminate the expense of enforcement..

Everyone pays to view/listen and if you really don’t have a TV or a radio you can claim it back (lol try proving it).

Oops kind of went into a little rant there..lol….
