I must have a fuel leak somewhere.

I can only smell it when the engine's running and the car's stationary, i.e. while driving through towns etc.

Had a mechanic look around and he reckoned there'd been a lose pipe which he tightened up under the rear end of the car but it's still there.

Any ideas?

check around the fuel pressure regulator, see if you can smell where its coming from, i fixed one on Artztogos car, problem with just tightening them is sometimes if you over tighten you end up cutting into the rubber with the clip and making the situation worse

There was a thread somewhere posted recently with a detailed pic of the most likely pipes to have the issue etc

will see if i can find it

I know this sound mad but sprinkle talc on the pipes when you first start up in the morning. It will show any damp up straight away.

I'll point my mechanic in the direction of this thread.
