Knocking Noise (probem 1)

PROBLEM:

Upon ignition I can hear a loudish kocking noise which stays throughout the drive but gets slightly less noisy.

AREA:

I got out of the car (engine still running) and it was more of a 'tinny' sound but it was coming from the back of the engine bay on the drivers side.

Is it a simple 'I need some more oil' (have done some miles recently) or something else?

Cheers,

Matty.

Have you checked the oil ? If not why not ??

Does the frequency of the noise change with engine speed or road speed ? (or neither)

Checked Oil, no problems there.

The noise is constant, tinney at the top of the engine....didn't sound as bad today (am going crazy?)

Matty.

So not a hydraulic lifter then, if it doesn't change with engine speed ??

(scratches head)

Am lost on this......or am I just being a 'Paranoid' Z owner...?

Matty.

This may sound a little crazy but if the sound remains constant even while you are reving, I would look to see if there is something loose. Maybe something metal is knocking on something else that is metal.

Just a suggestion.
