Timing belt cover

Does anyone know if the right and left plastic timing belt covers can be removed easily or does it mean taking the radiator, pulleys etc out? I want to paint them. Cheerz.

Coogs,

AFAIK removing the covers means taking the aluminium radiator pipe assembly off the front of the engine.. Which in turn means removing the rad, fan etc for access (unless you're lucky that is)..

Done mine some time ago and it was quite hard i must admit, left the rad but took off the viscous fan, rad hoses, really the hardest bit is removing the 2 alloy hard pipes going into engine from rad, with the right tools though things speeded up, once these are off it is simply a case of removing the vast amount of small bolts holding covers on, watch out for dirt seal on back of covers, you may loose them, but cheap to buy anyway, hmm, just the ideal time to fit a sexy stainless rad pipe kit, from yours truly, smithy

p.s if you hang on a week or so, i'm making enquiries as to having carbon ones made up and possibly alloy too.
