Hi

Had my aircon filler valves changed on my 92 tt import and a special gas with oil for the old type compessors put in.everything was perfect for 2 days then no more ice cool air.Checked the compressor and can see the clutch is not working (wiring has been checked)

1)can i replace with the newer type commpressor (series 2 on i think ?)

2)If so is that an advantage ? and is that all i have to replace or do other parts of the system have to be changed over to match the new type compressor?

thks Kurt

might well do but want to get all the bits so i don't forget and end up sweating my nuts off next year:ohmy:

Just to check - has the wiring been checked to the extent of bridging the pins where the relay should go out to see if the clutch clicks or have you just checked everythings connected? As if one of the new valves is leaking or there's a leak anywhere on the system iirc the system has a low pressure switch which will stop the clutch kicking in ;) Worth checking if you havent already before you go to the trouble.

Check the serial number on the top of the compressor, there were different variants that are of no use to another series etc.. Spare parts should be OK to half inch, its if you change the whole unit.

Im not 100% what it is exactly, i just knew from Mike Feeney at MJP when i was going to sell him one i had on my spare engine, but alas no good for his needs.
