I had the same when changing my engine from a Manual engine to a Auto, had to get the auto pilot out. in the end JamieTT came down, used a big heavy chisel and a mallet, one hit and the damn thing popped out.

So the trick is, heavy chisel and a heavy hammer, and give it a good wallop

The best way to remove a spigot is to pack the hole full of grease then find a close fitting bar and wack it to compress the grease. The s

pigot should pop out

Nothing too complicated, what you need is pictured below, aim the chisel away from the engine, sometimes a few hits will do it sometimes it needs several, if you can rotate the engine all the better as a few hits normal start to tip it out at an angle so hitting it at opposite points allow it to come out staight.

thanks soo much for all the suggestions will give them all a go - jeff if you can order me an arm like the first chap that would be cool (in fact i will have 2 as i would look odd with one - or more odd than already)

kind regards

dave

i've got 2 thin arms, muscles in average condition, make us an offer :)

what jeff said (nothing new there then!), although mine was really stuck, had to drill 2 small to progressively larger holes in it, then cracked it with the old hammer and chisel, caved it in a bit, bobs your uncle, or your dad in my case, he's called bob.....

if ya search ya can also use the 'hydraulic' method, i.e. filling the middle with grease, then use something a good fit in the middle as a kind of piston, hit it and the hydraulic properties push it out... hth...

all spot on - 5 mins with a good hammer and chisel and out it came - better than the toffee hammer i was messing around with many thanks all - next question i will imagine would be the wiring or clutch installation
