Evening All,

I decided to change the front tyres on my zed today and noticed a grazed mark on my coolant bottle just above the low level mark. After closer inspection and a low level of coolant i decided to top it up slightly and noticed the grazed mark was actually a small minute hole and it was seeping coolant. Checked the radiator water and it was fine, it didnt need topping up.

Wanted advice really.Would it be best not to drive the car until I change the bottle?...or is it something I just need to keep an eye on.

Regards

Kash

Do you mean the expansion bottle right front of engine. If so there is not surposed to be much water in that anyway. Its just a rad over flo tank which the rad puts water into when hot then draws it back when temp is okay.Dont worry to much about it as long as your rad is full.Take it off and either replace or mend.By the way it is not pressurised.

If in doubt. just dry off the area and put some silicone over it, melt some plastic over it or super glue even,

There is no pressure in it so you should be fine :)

Thanks gents.

Really appreciate your advice... Yes it is the over flow tank infront of the engine. And I will mend it tomorrow.

I binned mine - it prevents airflow out the back of the N/S intercooler, and when the system overflows (erm not often?) how would it get back into the system? My overflow pipe is just routed out the front near the radiator and theres no dramas. no no no no dramas.
