Hi All!

 

Im a future newbie to Z cars! Having checked insurance and prices, i recently realised a Z was in my price range, and since then Ive very quickly decided my MX5 is a bit slow!

 

However, since ive only ever seen one on the roads, ive no idea what to look out for! Is there anyone around Leamington or Coventry who wouldnt mind sparing an hour of their time sometime this weekend? I know it'd be really helpful to talk to an enthusiast before looking at cars myself!

 

If anyone can spare a bit of time, id be most grateful! I'm looking at getting a SWB, turbo manual if anyone has anything similar?

yeah, i realise now that all the swb ones will be imports, which probably isnt so good for my insurance. Think i'll probably get a nice LWB when i see one - as you say, UK registered and plenty about - im just waiting for the perfect one.

 

I want the targa top tho - i love getting the roof off to hear the exhaust note!

WOOOHOOO! Getting a Zed on the weekend! Cannot wait, tis going to be awesome! Tis a LWB, twin turbo manual, in dark grey.

 

Just swapped the insurance over from my old car to start on thursday - a mere £188 more than my 1.8 mx5 for a total of £676 for the year! bargain! (although computer said no when i mentioned an intercooler.. "oh, did i say i had intercooler? my mistake, turns out its just a radiator..." :D)

 

The car im getting has an exhaust that sounds AWESOME! custom made dual 5" tips, decatted and divorced downpipes, plus BOVs thrown in for added awesomeness. Gonna have to post a video when i get it through.

PS. what are divorced downpipes, anyways?!?

Excellent - as you said, pics (and/or video) should be posted up immediately so we can have a gander at your new steed. Hope it is a good un. Where did you find it, did anyone have a look at it for you?

Its eclipsed4ever's old Z - UK car, 72000 on the clock. Looked at it on my own, but did print out a buyers guide which i tried to stick to! Only thing i noticed was a wheel vibration under braking, so have factored in cost for new tension rod bushings.

Seems this mini-meet could end up being a mid-meet actually! Lookin forward to it. I'm flexible date/time wise but would prefer to do it while its dry! I suppose sat would be too early for Brillomaster, then again maybe he'll want to show off his new toy:detective:

date and time im flexible as i work nights- i would just be sacrificing a lil sleep :D

I've never seen another Zed around coventry. Does yours come out much Batman?

all the time now, i used to have a blue one but sold it as went to australia- so i have been gone a while however when i came back i bought a dark red one, the last 3-4 weeks its been out a lot, also im nocturnal as i work nights so some days i will be sleeping and so will the zed :D

i work nights too, well, 6pm-3am, so i'm not usually out during the week, other then the short m6 hop from jct3-2 lol

yeh im 10 pm till 6 am . but i do use it a lot

we'll have to get this mini meet organised. Would be good to see a few more Zeds lol

yeh ive only ever been to one in the past and it was a good turnout - lots of very knowlegable people which is what i need as i normally have loads of questions regarding heaps of issues i usually come accross - so far though i only have 1 issue which will be answered soon enough :D need to stick it on consult tho just to clarify

alright, consider it done! I'll find a weekend in the near future for us all to meet up - maybe two weeks time or something.

 

The trackday is at Blyton park with Javelin trackdays - more than welcome to come along, judging by the entrants so far me and my mates have got it wrapped up with our 328i, s2000 and caterham R400 - a zed would provide a bit of a challenge!

G Reg 1990 UK spec Twin turbo with 73k on the clock.Has a custom exhaust (possibly a tad loud) intake and BOVs, uprated intercoolers, 18" Rota GTR wheels.

 

The front numberplate was my first mod! Next will probably be interior stuff as the standard one is a tad drab. And yes, maybe some clear side repeaters...

i dont like you any more. Thats so much nicer than mine! if your exhaust is too loud for you, ya could always swap for my Japspeed, its a little quiet for me :p

might have to do a comparison on saturday - it sounds awesome, but had it sound tested at 99dB at 3/4 revs, drones a bit with the windows up.
