Guys

I went to the GP on Monday, had blood tests yesterday and got an appointment to see a consultant today on BUPA. I absolutely hate Hospitals and Doctors. I never go and see my Dr unless it is unavoidable!!!!.

Ever since I was in my early 20s when I was in and out all the time with serious heart problems I always associate them with pain, suffering, and anxiety. I already feel sick and have the shakes and im not going for a few hours yet.

Why do I feel like this, its BUPA apart from not having to wait for a year to see a specialist its in better surroundings. I should feel better about it but I dont!!!.

When I broke my leg I went two weeks without treatment or seeing anyone for the same reasons. I never used to be like this but am so anxious hoping that the problem is nothing to be worried about.

OMG OMG OMG OMG is it just me who has this?

Hi Mate, I too hate hospitals, but at the end the day, they are they to help us.

At least going private, you have the opportunity to get anything sorted a lot quicker if anything is wrong.

I think we take our health for granted and assume we will all live forever, but life is short enough without worrying what might, or might not be wrong.

Take some deep breaths and go to see the consultant with the attitude that he is going to give you an mot for peace of mind.

Keep us informed of any advisories and hope all is clear.

Best of luck

Graham

I am exactly the same mate, I even try to put off visiting people.

Last time I went for some physio on my shoulder and I nearly passed out

as she told me what she was going to do.:blushing:

I also throw up if they stick a needle in me.:blushing:

Hate Hospitals

When my misses had our little girl 8 months ago so so wanted to get out of there quick.

I hate the smell of the place.

Good luck today, hope all goes well mate...

You will be okay Buddy.Personally I ferking luv hospitals lol.Always treat a visit as a social event and always have a good laugh.

you will be ok buddy, Me and my wife are under Private health care with her job and not only would you be ok in NHS but you will feel especially fine in BUPA. it feels a bit more personal and they will make you feel at ease instead of the feeling of being rushed out for the next patient.

overall there isnt much they do that NHS wont but it is just the service you recieve that makes it all the more worthwile.

like i said, try to relax as you will be fine but if you can't calm down then they will do a good job of helping you :)

good luck buddy

Relax.Distract yourself by looking at all those lovely nurses  + enjoy being looked after.

I have a serious hatred of needles + manage to give blood now, by talking to the person doing it, consciously relaxing my body + definitely not watching.

Try and remember, they are there to help you...

Just got back, I sat in the car for five minutes before I went in. The Dr was really nice, very pleasant and made good small talk. After an examination he has booked me in for some investagative proceedure as an out patient, he said its not pleasant but should only take an hour.

I quit smoking a while back but have smoked a couple today, but at least the first part of this has been done. Have a bit of a break before I need to start dreading the next bit lol.

No fit birds there at all, just wrinkly old things!

was that before or after you dropped your trousers

I dislike hospitals too - I used to hate the places when I went in to visit my mum before she passed away. I suppose the only reason I don't like them is because they're full of ill people. but then that's the whole point of a hospital
