Oil tree thread size & oil cooler ID size. please help if you know. (picture added)

I need these sizes please, im pretty sure the oil tree is 1/8npt which isnt really big enough to fit the Accusump. Oil cooler pipes may be big enough but will require a check valve.

Anyone happen to know if theres a 1/2npt thread port in the oil system on a z32?

Im thinking about rethreading that thread port to a 1/2npt should be easy enough being aluminium what we think? Will there be any problems with oil return on the oil tree?

jimmy, take it from the stock check valve blank. there is a screw in adaptor that the stock cooler pipe connects to, which you can take off and blank. on the very end (right side) is a blank, use this to cap the stock cooler feed. when you unscrew the blank on the end, there will be a check valve and spring inside, remove all this and connect the accusump feed to the now empty "tube".

the bore will be/should be large enough, if not, fitting an adaptor to the tree will be easy enough to do.

will 3 quarts be enough? i would have gone for a 4 or 6 quart system

So hang on where will my oil cooler be then? i think 3 quarts is the max, its 4 litres its MASSIVE 16 inchs long and 4.5 inch wide.

get yourself a sandwich plate with AN -10 fittings that runs to the cooler

See i was thinking of buying a sandwich plate with 1/2bsp and pluming the accu into it then leave the cooler how it is.

you could do but, feeding the accu straight into the tree will be a much more affective method than flowing it round the filter. running the cooler off a plate is better as well due to the higher volume of oil that can be shifted

yeah thats true. I could also just plum it into the stock oil cooler and fit a check valve in there, will save some hassle. Not sure if i can even get to that part of the oil tree.

not sure weather the stock lines will have a big enough bore to allow for sufficiant flow of oil from the accu.

you should be able to get to the tree ok from underneath, maybe a bit of a struggle but, i still think it can be "getable"

stocvk lines are 10-12mm i think, and this should be enough, i have almost decided that i will plumb into the stock oil cooler hose and install a check valve of some sort which will prevent the accu from pressuring the cooler and directing oil straight into the oil tree and into the block. On the accusump installation guides it gives you three choices, external oil cooler/pump, oil filter or straight into the block (ideal situation).

I can plumb the accu into the place you have mentioned above with the correct hose size and still have the cooler in the stock place but install a check valve to compensate for the stock check valve.

aha i think i got it, i will do as you say and plumb into that port but i will keep the cooler in the same place but install a check valve further down for the cooler. should work.

Hi gents, did anyone ever work out what thread type the check valve blank is...I've read some article saying Nissan use BSP and some saying they use BSTP? I'm planning to install a check valve into my oil cooler line and plumb my accusump into here but wanna be sure of the thread type before I go stripping threads from my oil tree!

BSP and BSTP are the same thread, the only difference is BSTP is a tapered thread

British Standard Pipe and British Standard Taper Pipe, these are both the same as NPT which is Americas version (American) National Pipe Thread.

For future search info, the check valve blank on the oil tree is 3/4" UNF thread, took the oil tree to an engineering supplies shop to find out. I'm will be removing check valve as suggested, recommend buying a hook and pick set to get the valve stop out if you're doing it on car! Then installing a check valve in the oil cooler line as close to the tree as poss. to keep the majority of accusump oil going to the engine. Let you know how it goes!

Ok, long night last night but it is doable on car you just have to be dextrous and have deep sockets, flexi joints and long extension bars. Anyone need help with installing an accusump shout me up and I'll provide further info
