alrighty peeps looking into buying a 300zx tt its got no history other than a recipt for exedy clutch and 18 inch alloys the car has done 70k

 

so i have to assume its not had the cam belt done so gonna have to do

 

never done one on a z

 

have done a few belts on 8v and 16v last being a celica

 

what other things are best to change when you have the belt off ?

 

new tensioner water pump ?

 

anything else just trying to factor in the cost of evrything

god dam that was a nice right up not sure am gonna use distilled water for the coolant though i do live in bonnie scotland kin will have to string this bad boy out though alot of work all be it at the front of the engine i aint in no rush and if i was doing these evryday probs would be easy but all take my time get it right mrs will be well pissed off all miss my cups of coffe and probs my tea lol

 

why do i get the feeling these cars are a bassa to work on i dont even own one and just by looking they look like a fecker to work on lol

your not wrong mate, very tight engine bay etc. but once you learn your way aound it, and you will! then it all makes sense and it ain't so bad... plus you'll find pretty much anything you need to know here, speeds the jobs up 10 fold...

My belt change kit cost me £500 but i got someone to fit it for me, long gone are the days i'll do a belt change...just in case.....snap !!!!! arghhhhhh:hang::censored:

where did you buy your kit i have been told only to use a genuine nissan cam belt for obvious reasons lol

 

ah dont mind doing this stuff its one of the reasons i can afford to run a z cause i can tackle the oily bits i know what you mean though dosent bear thinking about does it

The first cam belt I changed was on my zed and I had no problems doing it by following one of the guides on here.

I bought my kit from Z1.

right looked on a few sites at 120 k you have to change belt tensioner camshaft seals etc etc but i am doing 60k belt change so is it just the belt ?
