Hiya Guys

 

Well the zed is running on 5. The front driver side coil pack is not working and when you start the car it gets hot in seconds. Could this be a bad earth?

 

Any help please.

Swap the pack with one of the others and see if the problem has moved? If it has then it would the coil it's self that fooked :)

Wiring then bud, have you checked the ptu?

Also if an injector is not working it can give the same impression of the coil not

working

Just put a new PTU on and all the injectors working fine..

 

Where does it get its earth from?

Don't mean to doubt you mate but how did you check the injectors?

Also have you had the coil pack out with a spare plug in the end to check the spark?

done the old screwdriver to ear on the injectors.

 

Just need to know why only one coil pack is getting very hot in seconds? cant touch thing its that hot.

 

Will check that it is sparking now.

All coil plugs are working and spark.

 

But will not spark in the front drivers.

do you have an ohm meter ? if so check theirs power to the connecter and then check the coil pack, get a reading from a good one to get your base line reading

Ok done my readings all the plugs are reading the same about 14 volts.

 

so all 6 plugs look like they are working but when you plug the coil pack to the plug at the front drivers side you get no spark.

 

cleaned up all the connections and made sure they are all tight but still nothing.

have you tried swapping the spark plug for a known good one?

yep I have swapped everything around

only thing it can be, I hope its not brought it of a member months ago.

I would bud but mines my daily

The coil packs will still work if the connections are switched around but get hot very quickly so my guess is you need to look at the 3 cable colours and cable sizes in relation to the one next one etc.

only done a temp one for now to see if it worked.
