Hi folks,

Really enjoying the Zed at the moment, but being a pessimist I can't help but think huge expense is looming just around the corner.. Car has done about 70 thou miles now and smokes once its been stood a week or so. I know there could be plenty of other reasons for the smoke, but I'm already assuming the worst while hoping for the best..

Irrespectively, the turbos will have had enough eventually (I also think the boost has been tweaked on my motor judging by the performance - so maybe sooner than later), so where do I start thinking about their replacement? I'm pretty confident that they'll last until I stow the car away for winter, but I may be asking Santa for some over the winter months..

I'd like some that enhance performance but don't suffer from lag. Who's had what and how do they perform?

Cheers

JWT Sport 530's are about the best IMO. Coupled with good manifolds and downpipes you get ~500bhp with similar boost threshold to stock and less lag.

If you want to make up some adapters and stuff to save some cost then the actual turbo is just an off the shelf Garret GT2554R

Cheers John,

Will look into that.. Assuming I don't decide to put a V8 in it! Just had a watch of your youtubes

Good work fella

...Also - is there a uk supplier of these kits? I can see Z1 sell them, but prefer to deal with uk companies. Looks like the turbos alone are about £700 - that sound about right? (better get saving..)
