Anyone know what the import duty is likely to be on a clutch from Z1? Total cost including shipping is a little under $700. Need to buy one soon and just pricing up the options of getting it from Z1 (again) or from Smithys....unless anyone knows of anywhere else?

Obviously local would be better in case things go wrong...as it did with my last clutch from z1!

Hi Vig,i just imported just under $700 from z1 and paid £37 but Josh does look after me on goods value.I think you may pay around £80 for that.

You wanna order it for me mate?? lol...a few other things that need my attention first but it will need doing fairly soon!

Cheers for the heads up though...

Typically its around 20-22% of the total for Duty, vat and Fee's.

If the sellers declares lower values then thats one way of paying less, but do bear in mind that if any of it gets lost or damaged the insurance cover is based on the declared values.

^^^^ Very true, whats weird is ive never asked for them to fiddle my invoices so i get charged less at Customs? as you said bud the insurance value will based on the stated shipping values so ive never bothered with that scam as it backfires if stuff goes missing.

Well you are not the only person that has received a reduced value shipment from Z1

It is a double edge sword tho as already mentioned.

Im just curious???

Its illegal to under declare stuff... So...................

Do our suppliers in the USA do it to "help" us????:w00t: or do they do it to mitigate any potential claims later???

I find its quite common from power sellers in the US on Ebay.

Wot U reckon then????
