Hi all,

 

As you may be aware my car was vandalised a couple of months ago and one of the items that needs replacing is the rear window - it has several chips taken out of it. I don't want to have them polished out as this would cause annoying distortions. My insurance company will pay me for getting the damage repaired BUT will only supply UK spec windows (i.e., blue tinted). My car is a Jap-spec and therefore requires bronze tinted windows. To get the correct glass from Japan is going to take upto 6 weeks and cost in the region of £1400 (!!!! )

My question is if anyone has a J-spec rear window for a 2+2 (this is important as SWB windows are smaller). Must be in excellent condition and have no additional film tint on it. What kind of price are you thinking of.

Danny, don't know if this is what you are looking for but I have a bronze tinted rear screen that was put onto my UK TT 2+2 as a temporary measure while I waited for a new one from Japan. It had a 300ZX logo across the back but this was removed. I paid £80 plus postage for it open to offers if you are interested.

Apologies for the delayed response but there haven't been enough hours in the day lately!

 

Is this rear screen you speak of "naturally" bronze tinted, i.e., it is not a blue tinted UK window with brown tint/film on the back? If so, is the glass in excellent condition - any scratches, blemishes, etc.? And lastly, is there any visual remnant of the 300ZX stickering that was removed?

 

If the glass is in A1 condition then I'd defo be interested in making you an offer for it.
