learn by my mistakes

hi All back in the fold after a few years....was a fuly paid up member before "Stebbi" never got rid of the zed........BUT basicaly became friendly with a former member on here and agreed as he had his own ZX specialist garage he would do the hi power rebuild i wanted doing....and as he had another forum for zeds i started posting on there ...anyway my car went in April 2008 3 months after its full respray for a serious power hike and internal forged rebuild , the money changed hands as he was just really starting out and needed the capital for the machining etc etc ...i sourced all my parts from either Smithy or Danny Zatt DTA ( great blokes if anybody ever needs anything ) and off my bits went to the garage .......now i cant go into detail but some 18 months later the car is still not ready ....my father is stricken with cancer and wishes to ride in the zed when its done to experience the power ......the car is still not ready even after i was promissed it would be for my fathers sake ...my father passes away feb 2009 ..the garage is broken into and my car is badly damaged and releived of its new 18" alloys and brand new toyo tyres ...so now i had no drivable car as the engine was all over the garage floor ..no wheels to move it.....an irrate business unit owner wanting the cars moved as the garage had been re possesed....i was not the only person in this situation and one guy was in a lot worse sceario with his zed ....the upshot now is after having to rescue my and another member car at my own expense and then waiting another 5 months for the monies paid or part compensation or a promised plan of action all we recieved apart i believe from faisel was insults and rubber ear tactics and poor excuses .....my car is now with a reptable builder and specialist .......and will be on the road hopefully in september ..the moral to this tale of woe ..( if anybody wants to know the details PM me as it is far far worse than i have written on here ) is MAKE SURE the garage or specialist you use has public liabilitity insurance and double check his buildings theft insurance espceialy with his landlord if he has one.......i have lost over 4 thousand pounds on this over my own faith in humanity being as honest as myself and my naievity learn from my mistakes not everybody is as honest as they seem when it comes to the push

I've re-opened this thread, for now, but let's keep any name calling, mud slinging and anything else like that off this forum (that's to the rest of you especially, I don't just mean Steve ;) ) If this gets out of hand it'll be pulled! :D

yes it was not my intention to start a mud slinging match ...just to let others learn from my mistakes .......weve allready gone through the name calling threats of GBH etc :) its just a learning curve now......and somthing for all zedders to be cautious about

thanks Gary looking forward to Sept ...its nice to be back

Thanks Lads ..to be honest its nice to be back .....im sure the car will be fine and i will enjoy owning her again .......i must admit the shine has been taken off it with recent events ......and the outcome with the trader will not change to how it is today ....i have accepted that .......the only gain i have is the moral high ground and knowing if i go to an event and he was there he would have no choice but to leave ...Chris your motor is looking great now fella , have you altered the front ride height ?? looks like your running an Audi v12 diesel in there :) ....

Nope not a diesel mate! Was just lowered badly on the front, its now level on its coilovers :) Thats an old picture in my sig from when I first got the car. Send me an email if you want mate, ...
