Hey folks im getting ready to put my shell in for a respray in black and i have quite decided what to do with the rear of the tailgate. The OEM spoiler has been removed and ive been throwing a few ideas about. Do i go with smoothing it down and fitting a perspex panel on its own, fitting a tailgate skin, or something else or a combination of the other two. Comments and pics appreciated please.

iv gone perspex strip & 99 spec spoiler on mine :)

i think the smoothed rear hatch skin personally.

I have the perspex strip with the spoiler holes filled for the smooth look.

tailgate skin IMO

Perspex Panel & 99spec Spoiler.

 

LWB looks too plain without a spoiler imo.

i agree. 99 spec on the lwb

tailgate skin give the rear end a longer and more rounded look. But i also stuck a spoiler over the top :)

when i had a lwb

it had a stock spoiler but i didnt like that

then smooth with perspex pannel but this looked wrong

then 99 spec :)

 

now i have a swb its smooth and looks great, my first thought was it needs a spoiler, but no the lines of the swb (esp the slicktop) say smooth

 

either way i think its the perspex pannel that makes the rear end look complete

Ive never been a fan of the 99 spec spoiler i think it is slighty too short in width for the car from pics i have seen. I do think the tailgate skin will just add enough to the rear for it to work on a lwb as with the perspex panel the rear end looks a little abrupt however it is good to see some pics of what has been done already and everyones opinons are alwasy welcome.

The more smoothed lips i see the more i think it looks right and just gives the sleek look.
