Had the window down today and as i was braking i heard what sounded like the pads and shims moving as i braked?

it stops fine and theirs plenty of meat on the pads,do they suffer with the pads slopping about in the cailper as i know some cars do?

I plan to take the wheels off the weekend and pull them apart for my own peace of mind.

any thoughts?

^^^As above^^^ Check all the shims are present, IIRC there is a shim on the back of each pad plus a little springy type piece that sit on ONE corner of each pad to remove the slack as it were that your are describing - maybe that is missing - when I first bought my car, it had no shims or little springy things and made a clacking type noise when braking.

is their a service kit they sell for these?

Not as such but you can buy the pieces req'd from MJP - trader on here.

First check to see what you've got or not as it were before jumping in. It maybe something else.

I get a clacking noise also - will add this to the to do list!

Should be 2 shims either side of each pad, but looking at the zcentre website, he supplies 3.

Plus there is the spring retainer on each corner of the pads (2)which hold the shims in place.

Ive recently changed my pads and have lost the little spring retainers and my pads do move slightly within the caliper.

No mate I started at the passager rear

Did you bleed the ABS unit in the boot? common mistake to forget that.
