Renault problems

My partner has a 2004 Renault Scenic 1.5dci, when she went out yesterday the clutch pedal stuck down and it would not go into gear.

Now the clutch pedal stays down on the floor and you have to pull it back up and it will not go into any gear.

At first I thought the clutch might of gone, but now I am thinking it might be something like the slave cylinder?

It was running fine prior to this, has anyone got any ideas what might be wrong with it?

will be a slave cylinder, do you have to top up the fluid but without the sign of a leak on the ground???

Are they hydarulic or cable on those clutches?

Cable may have snapped or clutch system may need bleeding maybe. Is there any leakages from the master cylinder? If the slave cylinder is knackard you need a new one plus fluid top up and bleeding.

I'm still trying to figure out where you fill it up, there are no leaks on the ground though.

This has been the worst car we have owned, there is no room under the bonnet to see anything, even changing a headlight bulb needs noodle arms that are double jointed, I am going to have another look over the weekend to see if I can actually find the master or slave and where to top up, I believe it is hydraulic.
