Slick Pete will be starting on my new car in about two or three weeks. He's going to strip out most of the mechanicals in the slicktop and get the bodywork right up to scratch along with a few other jobs :)

The engine and electronics from the red car will be put into the slicktop by Dan when Pete has done his stuff.

There are going to be a fair few new parts so there will be lots of good stuff up for grabs at very reasonable prices. Pete will be sorting out what's to be had from the slicktop and there will be some stuff from the red one and of course the rolling shell will be looking for a new owner. Not much in the way of details just yet but will be posting a thread in the for sale when we know precisely what's going.

What is certain is that while I won't be stripping the slicktop to the bare bones I won't be keeping aircon and various servos etc to keep the weight right down.

I guess my main performance aim is to exceed 200 mph. I managed 196 mph on my ZX10R after spending a bloody fortune so this is my last chance as getting too bloody old for it lol.

i want that bumper soooooo much

I saw it in the flesh earlier today. It's awesome :gunsmilie: The whole car looks brilliant and the wheels look super sexy and look great against the white. Great choices all round Bob, and top work by Pete. Engine bay is gleaming :cool2:

I cant quite get the bumper fitted on my own and I dont want to risk breaking anything.:scared:

If I do get some help then I will post up a pic in daylight of it fitted.

It is Wicked. IMO

Well still no help with fitting.... so I cheated cos i know one or two of you want to see the pics.........

Enjoy:smartass:

I definately want to steal it now

Christ Pete i only wanted to see the bumper, if it involves doing perverse favours for you i might give it a miss

Last day of assembly today. My initial phase of the project is complete(apart from the TwinZ bumper-fit).

Car is now back down on the deck complete with new wheels n tyres.

Just got to load it on the trailer and deliver it to Dan at Advanced Motorsport nr Silverstone. Probably Tues next week.

Looking back thru my work sheets I see I have spent 15 days on this car and the red one. It has been a major piece of work and at times a difficult logistical exercise to ensure everything on both cars has been removed and refitted to the correct car.

Just one little slip ....I refitted a SWB handbrake cable to the SWB subframe after it was put on the red LWB shell. Realized as I was doing it.... thank goodness!

It has been good to work with Bob on his project and I have been invited to do some more work in the finishing off stages later.

I have a vision for the finished car and it will be good to be there to completion.

Final pics... Enjoy.

thats looking great, how much was the rear bumper it looks amazing

wish i was closer, would have helped to fit it with ya

Bantambunny will pop up before it goes ....( if he wants my continued co operation with his project. LOL)

well Nick came to help on the final bit of fitting as promised.

The twinz rear bumper is now fitted.

1. It looks great.:cool3:

2. It is very well made.:cool3:

3. Out of the box it fits better than any of the usual fibreglass stuff I have seen on this forum or from any UK trader.

4. I need one. So does Nick!:cool3:

Silly sod!-why didn't you give me shout if you needed a hand!

Cos I dont have a phone number for ya!!!

And TBH I havent quite got used to you being back. LOL!!

Email me yer number for future.

TBH Nick wanted to have a look at the bumper anyway before the car goes off to Advanced Motorsport on Tuesday.

Ta for the offer.

Too damn right :D lol The fit is almost perfect, needs a little tweakingon the front of the sides where it meets the arch (just a little shaved off) but apart from that i was amazed how good the fit was and how flexible the whole thing was to get it on. Piece of cake when you've got 2 people and a jack and looked awesome.

Better start saving those pennies...... :headvswal
